Like all our new employees, Sarah and Tanja were also sent on a trip around Lake Constance. After all, our employees in the reservations department should be able to provide our customers with first-hand information and tips. On a short bike tour, they cycled around the Untersee and to the Rhine Falls. Many people think that this is the most beautiful part of Lake Constance.

Of course, they also cycled around the Obersee - Tanja describes what they experienced on this cycle tour in her report on our portal to the Lake Constance cycle path.

From Sarah:

As new employees at Radweg-Reisen, we were allowed to get on the saddle ourselves and explore our home region, Lake Constance, by bike. This makes sense, as it allows us to experience first-hand what it's like on a bike tour and get to know our home region from a bike. My colleague Tanja is a real lake kid and I've also lived here for ten years - but you can experience the region in a completely different way by bike.

So we set off from Constance on 29 May with our super stylish and new red e-bikes. This time, we decided to forgo the luggage service, as the tour was quite short and we didn't need much in the perfect weather.

Of course, everything was just for testing purposes...

With two saddlebags in tow, we cycled towards Schaffhausen. The Swiss side is known for being very rural and you can marvel at many impressive houses.

Along the south bank to Stein am Rhein

We arrived in Stein am Rhein in beautiful weather and with a strong headwind, where we took our first break.

Stein am Rhein really is a beautiful little old town and well worth a visit. So don't be alarmed if you come to the market square and suddenly discover hundreds of our red rental bikes.

Schaffhausen and the Rhine Falls

After a relaxing break, we cycled another 19 km until we reached the Park Villa in Schaffhausen. After a quick check-in, we cycled to the Rhine Falls. We have lived on Lake Constance for so many years and it is always impressive.

Of course, we also took one of those tourist trips on a boat directly in front of the waterfall. The 30-minute boat trip with audio was really exciting and even we learned some facts that we hadn't known before.

After about 60 km that day, we set off in Schaffhausen in search of a restaurant for a well-earned dinner. That was no problem at all, as there is one Italian restaurant after another.
But always bear in mind the prices in Switzerland!

Stein am Rhein - Radolfzell - Meersburg

Since the tour originally takes 3 days and we did it in 2 days, we took the train from Schaffhausen to Stein am Rhein the next day.
Good to know: In Switzerland, taking a bike costs the same as a ticket for an adult.

From there, we cycled on via Radolfzell to Bodman, Ludwigshafen, Überlingen and on to Meersburg. It was a really long and strenuous stage for us with around 70 km and lots of climbs.

On the last few meters in Constance

The ferry took us back across the lake to Constance. Once there, Tanja's tire suddenly went flat a few minutes later. Yes, this has happened to us too and we are not protected from it. We pumped up the tire a little to make it the last few meters to Radweg-Reisen.
