Zillertal Cycle Path and Hohe Tauern

Day 1: Individual arrival in Innsbruck

After your arrival, you should not miss out on a visit to the Tyrolean capital. Stroll through the beautiful old town of the Alpine metropolis. It's not big, but the city's landmark is certainly magnificent. A roof adorned with 2,657 golden shingles, Goldenes Dachl is located in the middle of the Gothic Old Town. An excursion to the famous Bergisel ski jump, from whose tower you have a unique view of the city and the Nordkette mountain range, is well worthwhile.

Day 2: Innsbruck – Strass im Zillertal, approx. 50 km

Leaving Innsbruck, you are accompanied by the high Alpine peaks. You follow the banks of the Inn on the cycle path of the same name and enjoy the passing landscape. Take a break in Wattens and visit the Swarowski Crystal Worlds (not included). This unique place of fantasy with thousands and thousands of glittering crystals will inspire you. Leisurely set off on the last few kilometers of your first cycling stage. Once you arrive in Strass, at the entrance to the Zillertal, you have reached your overnight accommodation for today.

Day 3: Strass in the Zillertal – Krimml, approx. 25 – 45 km + transfer

You cycle along the Zillertal cycle path into the wide valley. To the left and right, the mountain giants over 3000 meters high, in the middle the river and you. Enjoy the view and the sun as you cycle through small villages and green meadows. In the early afternoon, you will cross the Gerlos Pass. But don't worry – you don't have to pedal and sweat, but sit comfortably in the transfer bus that takes you to Krimml. During the journey, you will pass Europe's largest waterfalls.

A unique natural spectacle awaits you – the thundering masses of water plunge 380 meters over three steps. Then hop on your bike and enjoy a leisurely ride along the Salzach through the Hohe Tauern National Park. Enjoy the peace and quiet and the beautiful scenery of this fairytale landscape.

Soon after, you will reach Saalfelden am Steinernen Meer. Take a break with a view of the sea, which in this case is not water but a mountain range. On your way towards Lofer, you will come across further highlights. The Seisenbergklamm gorge and the Lamprechtshöhle cave, both of which are open to visitors.
