We had a wonderful trip with Radweg-Reisen and stayed at the Apartment Hotel in Konstanz. We had a nice big room with a small kitchen and it was clean and tidy. We were also happy with the breakfast, there was even gluten-free bread.

We started the bike tour to Meersburg and Lindau at 8.00 am to catch the last ship in Lindau at around 4.00 pm. The cycle paths were impressive and well signposted along the entire route. It was a very beautiful cycle route throughout, with vineyards on one side and the lake on the other. The sky was blue and the idyllic and vibrant towns enchanted us with their café life, which we also enjoyed. The boat trip back to Constance took three hours - a calm and peaceful journey, during which we saw the impressive Meersburg and Friedrichshafen from the lake side.

The next day: it was a shorter cycle tour to the island of Mainau. First we went through Constance and then a little outside the city limits to the flower island, which had wonderful flowers, butterflies, plants, herbs, cacti and trees in store for us. The view across the lake from the castle on the island was breathtaking.

Our 4th day of cycling took us to Salem. The cycle tour took us past many beautiful sunflower fields and vineyards, especially where the pilgrimage church Birnau thrones above a vineyard. In Salem, we strolled through the historic monastery and castle. The last part of the cycle tour took us back to Meersburg, a very romantic town. Finally, we took the ferry back to Constance.

On the last day, we went to the island of Reichenau and the small Swiss town of Stein am Rhein - both very attractive. On Reichenau, we cycled past one orchard after another: pears, apples, plums... There were also large vegetable fields where cabbages etc. were grown, as well as large greenhouses with tomato plants. The plants were growing in the fields and it was a feast for the eyes. It was great that the lake was so clean and blue that we went swimming. We got to know Stein am Rhein, a stunningly beautiful medieval town with cafés, restaurants and nice stores.
