A vacation at last after such a long corona break and great anticipation for Lake Constance! We used the day we arrived from Lusatia to visit the Rhine Falls in Schaffhausen. When we arrived in Constance, we checked into a room at the Hotel Ko'ono and then drove to the bike reception. The staff from Radweg-Reisen took excellent care of us. The bikes were quickly adjusted to the right saddle height and ready to ride with a repair kit and air pump. We then had to cover the first few kilometers along the lake to the hotel.
The bikes were almost new and rode perfectly. We felt at home in the "Ko'ono", which is tastefully furnished and offered an excellent dinner with special cuisine in addition to a varied breakfast. Everywhere we went we experienced friendly and courteous hosts and caretakers.
The itinerary is very varied and versatile. The information in the accompanying booklet is comprehensive and well thought out. We followed all the directions, but sometimes we took side routes, mostly near lakes.
A particular highlight for us on the 1st stage was the Zeppelin Museum in Friedrichshafen.
We filled the rest day in Kressbronn with a sailing trip, swimming near the hotel and a tour of the town.
The 3rd day took us to Austria. The highlight here was the cable car ride up the Pfänder. In Bregenz, we admired the backdrop of the lake stage. On the way back, we cooled off in the lake and strolled through the old town of Lindau on the island.
The 4th day took us from Kressbronn to Friedrichshafen and via Romanshorn towards Constance.
The wine or coffee tastes particularly hearty in nice cafés.
Just before Münsterlingen, we discovered a small chapel with interior paintings from the 14th century - well worth seeing! Should be included in the program.
Constance itself is of course a stunner. A stroll through the old town and to the "Imperia" is a MUST.
On day 5, we skipped the canoe trip in favor of the State Garden Show in Überlingen.
The last tour took us across the island of Reichenau to the Höri peninsula, where we were impressed by the Otto Dix House and Hermann Hesse's house and garden.
In glorious sunny weather, we drove through a garden in bloom and enjoyed the ever-changing nature. Many beaches tempt you to jump into the lake. However, you should bring bathing shoes because of the many stones. The cycle paths are well signposted and lead past well-tended green spaces and lakeside promenades.
Show more Show lessWe can only recommend this trip and the tour operator. The advantage of staying in just two hotels is that you don't have to pack your bags every evening, you can take a break on a rainy day and still see a lot of Lake Constance and the surrounding area. We had a great rest, strengthened our leg muscles, gained lots of impressions and experienced a beautiful region with mountains, water and lots of culture. On the way back, we visited Salem with its castle and the monkey mountain. In addition to the monkeys, dozens of white storks can be seen feeding there.
