Day 2: Round trip in Kalavárda, approx. 35 km

Your first stage takes you on a wonderful circular tour through the surroundings of Kalavárda. First, you follow the quiet coastal road along the sparsely populated north coast. The ancient town of Kamiros is on your way and can be visited either directly or on the way back. A stop at the quaint café "Mandriko" is worth a short break, while the neighboring church is worth a look. The route leads down a gentle hill to the fishing port of Skala Kamiros, from where boats depart for the island of Halki. A detour to the medieval fortress of Kritinia rewards you with a magnificent view of the surrounding islands. You then return to Skala and head back to Kalavárda with a tailwind. There you can end the day relaxing on the beach before enjoying the included dinner at the hotel.

Your route continues to Eleousa, an almost abandoned village that was built by the Italians and today exudes a mysterious atmosphere. You cycle on to the Byzantine chapel of Fountoukli, the oldest on Rhodes, before heading down to the west coast via Dimilia and the Silas chapel built into a cave.
