Although Greece has a large mainland, it is the numerous islands that immediately come to mind when thinking of Hellas. Deep blue seas, white cliffs, beautiful beaches, lush olive groves, sun-drenched wines and a history that is thousands of years old and shrouded in legend – all this and much more awaits you on this tour by boat and bike on the Ionian Islands. Corfu is one of these Islands, which is located off the west coast of Greece. The Ionian Islands include the islands of Lefkas, Kefalonia, Ithaca, Meganisi and Paxos, which you will also get to know on this 8-day trip. The motor glider Panagiota will serve as your floating hotel during the trip by boat and bike on the Ionian Islands, taking you safely and comfortably through the island world off the Greek coast. This allows you to enjoy life on board to the full. Rounded off with bike tours on the islands, the trip by boat and bike on the Ionian Islands offers you a varied travel experience that you will remember for a long time to come.
The guided boat and bike tour on the Ionian Islands requires a certain level of fitness. The daily cycle routes include sections that go up to heights between 300 and 600 metres. You will be cycling in hilly and mountainous terrain, and will have to tackle steeper and longer inclines. However, you are allowed to push your bike. If you don't want to cycle a tour, you have the option of spending the day on the boat.

The charming island of Corfu is the starting and finishing point of your boat and bike on the Ionian Islands! It is located in the northern part of the Ionian Sea, where it meets the Adriatic. The picturesque terrain, full of green rocky slopes that tower over turquoise waters, immediately puts you at ease. Many small bays complete this picture. The island's eventful past is also reflected in the towns and their architecture. Embarkation on the Panagiota takes place in the afternoon.
A fresh wind will blow in your face during the crossing to the west coast of Greece. On the mainland, you will adjust your bikes and off you go! The first bike tour starts in the small coastal town of Syvota, which extends over the gentle hills along the sea. The route continues to Parga. A Venetian fortress from the 16th century towers over the city. From there you have a fantastic view of the rugged rocky hills of the Greek coast. From Parga, the boat takes you to the port of Nidri on the island of Lefkas.
In the morning you will cycle to a nearby waterfall. You will then continue along quiet roads through the mountains to the sunny town of Syvota in the south of the island. The harbour town is located in a sheltered bay surrounded by green hills and lush forests. From Syvota you will take the boat to Fiskardo on the island of Kefalonia. Kefalonia is the largest of the Ionian Islands and has a multitude of sandy beaches and secluded coves. It is believed that the island corresponds to the island of Same, ruled by Odysseus, a hero of Greek mythology.
After leaving the Bay of Fiskardo on today's stage of your trip by boat and bike on the Ionian Islands, you will climb the impressive mountain road on the west coast. Enjoy the unforgettable panorama with a view of Myrtos beach. The region around the marble-white pebble beach is a protected area and offers a special natural experience. The stalactite cave of Melissani is an adventurous sight. The sparkling cave can only be reached by rowing boat. The journey continues to Sami. From there, your ship sets sail for the island of Ithaca.
On his way home, Odysseus had to overcome numerous adventures and trials. But don't worry, you won't have to fear sea monsters or sirens on your way. Explore the island of Ithaca, the home of Odysseus, without a care in the world. The gnarled olive trees, the deep blue sea and the friendly islanders give the area its typical Greek charm. From the harbour town of Frikes, the ship awaits you for the crossing to the small island of Meganisi.
First up on the programme is a bike tour to explore the island of Meganisi. Treat yourself to a long coffee and bathing break on the beach at Spartochori. Back on board the MS Panagiota, enjoy the long crossing to the island of Paxos. With the natural harbour of Gaios, you will reach today's destination. On this smallest of the Ionian Islands, the locals still live mainly from wine and olive growing. Spend the evening in a small tavern and enjoy the relaxed island atmosphere.
Before you return to Corfu on your trip by boat and bike on the Ionian Islands in the afternoon, a tour of Paxos by bike is an obvious choice. You can take a break whenever you feel like it and relax on one of the beautiful beaches. After lunch, you will sail back to your starting point, the island of Corfu. Take a walk through the charming, Venetian-style old town of Corfu Town and enjoy a glass of Greek wine and some of the island's many specialities before you leave tomorrow.
After breakfast and disembarking, your trip by boat and bike on the Ionian Islands comes to an end. You will then make your own way back home. A shared transfer to Corfu Airport is available on request. We would be happy to extend your stay in Corfu by one additional night on request.
