With its 1050 kilometers, the Vistula is the longest river in Poland and offers ideal conditions for a cycle tour in Poland. Your starting point is Krakow, Poland's second largest city with 765,000 inhabitants. A city tour brings you closer to this fascinating metropolis. On the way by bike, you will visit places steeped in history, such as the medieval town of Sandomierz and the palace of Baranów Sandomierski. In between, you cycle through the scenic Vistula floodplains and experience the species-rich flora and fauna along one of the last unaltered rivers in Europe. At the end of your cycle tour in Poland, the contrasting city of Warsaw awaits you. The city looks back on an eventful but also tragic history. But it is precisely this aspect that makes it so attractive! This cycle tour in Poland is particularly suitable for cyclists who would like to discover Poland as a travel destination and get to know the original landscape and historical diversity along the Vistula.

This cycle tour is a half-guided tour. You will be accompanied by a driver with whom you will meet at fixed transfer times. You have the freedom of an individual cycle tour in terms of cycling speed and break times, as well as the security of a guided tour. Should you ever need help, there is always someone nearby.

Day 1: Individual arrival in Krakow

After you have arrived in Krakow and checked into your hotel, grab your bike and take your first tour of Krakow's Old Town. Dinner will be served at the hotel.

Day 2: Krakow – Niepolomice – Hebdów, approx. 35 km + transfer

After breakfast, you will receive your travel documents at an information meeting. You will then take part in a 3-hour city tour through the historic old town. A visit to the Rynek Główny, the main market square, is a must. It is considered one of the most beautiful squares in Europe. In the center of the square are the Krakow Cloth Halls. The square is lined with palaces and churches. The world-famous high altar of St. Mary's Church is just as eye-catching as the Wawel, once the residence of the Polish kings. In the afternoon, a transfer will take you to Niepołomice, from where you will cycle to Hebdów.

Day 3: Hebdów – Zalipie – Baranów Sandomierski, approx. 55 km + transfer

Today, your route first takes you along the Vistula to Zalipie. The pretty village, where the wooden houses are painted and decorated with floral motifs, is quite literally one of the most picturesque spots on your cycle tour in Poland. Visit the museum of house painting here. You will reach your destination for today's stage, Baranów Sandomierski, by transfer. The Leszczyński Palace on the outskirts of the town is considered a pearl of the Polish Renaissance. Use the time after dinner for an extensive walk in the palace park and along the nearby Vistula River.

Day 4: Baranów Sandomierski – Sandomierz, approx. 40 km

After breakfast today, you have the opportunity to visit the rooms of the castle. You then cycle along narrow roads along the Vistula to Sandomierz. The town was once built on seven hills. It is worth visiting the medieval old town, which is part of one of the best-preserved towns in Poland. Climb the viewing platform of the Opatower Gate and enjoy the view of the many pretty town houses. If you are drawn to the underworld, you should go near the post office building. Behind it begins the Underground Tourist Route, which takes you almost 500 meters through numerous vaulted cellars dating back to the 16th century.

Day 5: Sandomierz – Józefów / Piotrawin, approx. 60 km

Today you cycle through nature reserves and bird sanctuaries, initially along the banks of the Vistula. Along the way, you will have plenty of time to relax on the riverbank. How about a little picnic? Enjoy the peace and tranquillity of these natural areas, which are so unique in Poland. You will spend the night in Józefów nad Wisła or a few kilometers further on in Piotrawin.

Day 6: Józefów – Kazimierz Dolny, approx. 45 km

Today, the route takes you leisurely along the Vistula to Kazimierz Dolny. The layout of the town dates back to the Middle Ages and has been preserved to this day. The Renaissance buildings are particularly striking. Thanks to the use of soft limestone from the region, the varied design of the house facades was successful. Worth seeing examples are the St. Nicholas and St. Christopher town houses. It is also worth visiting the 16th century parish church, which has one of the oldest organs in Poland.

Day 7: Kazimierz Dolny – Warsaw, approx. 40 km + transfer

After breakfast, a bus transfer will take you to Góra Kalwaria. From here you will soon reach the destination of your trip: Warsaw. After checking in at the hotel, you will have the opportunity to take part in a guided tour of the Old Town. If you would like to explore the Old Town yourself, you will be spoiled for choice. Rich in architectural contrasts, Warsaw impresses with a variety of modern and historical monuments from different eras. These include the outstanding Palace of Culture from the 1950s and the Royal Castle near the banks of the Vistula. Last but not least, a stroll through Łazienki Park, the Park of Baths, is well worthwhile. At 80 hectares, it is the largest park in Warsaw.
