Today is once again dedicated to the stunning natural beauty of the Masurian Lake District.
You will cycle north through serene forests, tranquil moorlands, and alongside sparkling lakes. A ferry ride will then transport you to Mikołajki, where you will stay tonight and tomorrow.
Today, you will explore the most scenic corners of the Masurian Lake District by bike. In the morning, a boat ride will take you from Mikołajki to Ryn. Your cycling journey will lead you through charming villages and alongside the serene Masurian canals. While in Mikołajki, be sure to take in the view from the bridge as you'll have the perfect opportunity to admire the fountain sculpture of the legendary Stinthengst, the heraldic creature of Mikołajki.
Today, you will embark on a journey through history. Pedaling through a landscape dotted with lakes, you will make your way to the Wolf's Lair, passing through Kętrzyn. For those interested, a guided tour of this historic site is available, offering insight into the remains of the former military headquarters of the German Wehrmacht, nestled in a forested area. Afterward, a bus transfer will take you to Mrągowo, where you will spend the night.
On today's leg of your cycling tour through Masuria, you will explore the serene region around Mrągowo. Revel in the tranquility and untouched beauty of the landscape. Pause for a break in Sorkwity, where you can visit the charming local church and enjoy a peaceful picnic by the lake. Your journey continues through the picturesque stork village of Gązwa, before returning to Mrągowo. In the evening, take a leisurely stroll along the lakeshore to soak in the peaceful surroundings.
In the morning, you will beginn your bike tour with a stop in Reszel. Here you will find the remains of a Teutonic Order stonghold. It made a significant contribution to the development of the town of Reszel in the 13th century. Continue on your bike tour in Masuria to Święta Lipka. The village is one of the most famous Polish Marian pilgrimage sites. According to legend, the beautiful baroque church (Święta Lipka Sanctuary) in the village center was built on a spot where a linden tree is said to have once performed miracles. In the afternoon, a bus transfer will take you to Warsaw.
