The centre based cycle tour on Lake Lucerne takes you to one of the most beautiful areas of Central Switzerland. Experience four beautiful lakes at once: Lake Lucerne, Lake Zug, Lake Baldegg and Lake Sempach. Lucerne offers the ideal starting point, as it is picturesquely situated directly on Lake Lucerne. In addition to the numerous sights in Lucerne itself, you can discover other treasures and highlights in the surrounding area. From Kappelbrücke to Rosengarten and Mount Pilatus, the cycle tours show you around between idyllic lakes and dreamy mountains.
Welcome to Lake Lucerne. When you think of Lucerne, you immediately see the covered wooden bridge in front of your inner eye. And indeed, the oldest wooden bridge in Europe is the city's landmark. But the water tower, the Rigi and the Lion Monument are also well worth a visit. Be enchanted by the Mediterranean flair of the largest city on Lake Lucerne and treat yourself to a tour of this beautiful region by paddle steamer.
In the morning, there will be a short tour briefing and you will receive the rental bikes you have booked. From then on, the focus for the day will be on Lake Lucerne. After you have climbed a small range of hills, you can enjoy another view of the entire valley. Your route then takes you via Küssnacht to Weggis. You then cross over to the Horw peninsula by boat. The view of Lucerne's local mountain, Mount Pilatus, is unique here.
In the morning, you cycle through the neighboring village of Emmenbrücke up the ridge of Brunauer Berg mountain to Ruswil, the largest farming settlement in Switzerland with 245 farms. The late baroque parish church is one of the largest and most valuable church buildings in the Lucerne region. Cycle past the beautiful monastery complex of Werthenstein, which is clearly visible from afar, along the small Emme river back to Lucerne.
Today you cycle to the picturesque little town of Sursee on Lake Sempach. The tour takes you through peaceful forests and past beautiful farmhouses. There are also great views of the nearby Alpine peaks and Mount Pilatus. According to legend, the Roman prefect Pontius Pilatus is buried here. Sursee, with its beautiful lakeside location, is the perfect place for a lunch break before you set off on the way back along Lake Sempach.
The first section of the route takes you back to the already familiar town of Küssnacht on Lake Lucerne. You then cycle just a few kilometers and reach the beautiful Lake Zug in Central Switzerland. You can admire the Rigi behind you. A boat is already waiting for you in Arth to take you to Immensee. There is a short but steep climb to master before you cycle back to Lucerne along a forest adventure trail.
The route takes us past Emmenbrücke bridge to the only privately owned Swiss lake, Lake Baldegg. It is home to over 300 plant species. Cycle around the lake to Heidegg Castle, picturesquely situated on the shore in the middle of a largely preserved park and cultural landscape of national importance. Before cycling back to Lucerne one last time, it is worth taking a relaxing walk through the fragrant rose garden.
