The bike route from Dinkelsbühl to Nördlingen, offers a scenic and relatively easy ride through picturesque landscapes, charming villages, and historic landmarks.
In Nördlingen the Nördlinger Ries awaits you. It is a unique geological formation, created by a meteorite impact over 15 million years ago. Early settlers recognized the area’s potential, and today, the town of Nördlingen lies at the heart of the crater, which remains visible to this day. A local museum offers fascinating insights into the region's history, including the reason why the crew of Apollo 14 chose Nördlingen as a training site—its crater landscape closely resembled the surface of the moon. This blend of natural wonder and historical significance makes Nördlingen a truly remarkable destination.
