Day 1: Individual arrival in Heidelberg

The starting point of your bike tour across Baden-Württemberg is Heidelberg. It is one of the most popular and beautiful university cities in Germany. The image of Heidelberg Castle, which towers over the romantic city on the Neckar, is world-famous and has inspired many travelers. Stroll through the old town, relax on the banks of the Neckar or visit the magnificent castle. You are welcome to book additional nights before your bike tour in order to explore Heidelberg more extensively.

Day 2: Heidelberg – Bretten, approx. 60 km

From Heidelberg, you cycle through the Electoral Palatinate. Then you'll climb a few of the thousand hills of the Kraichgau region. You will pass picturesque orchards, sun-drenched vineyards and refreshing bathing ponds. For history and culture lovers, the highlight of today's route is certainly Bruchsal Castle. The baroque building was once the seat of the prince-bishops of Speyer. Today it houses two museums. The first overnight stop on your bike tour is the half-timbered town of Bretten. Here, much revolves around the town's most famous son - the reformer Melanchthon.

Day 3: Bretten – Bad Wildbad, approx. 45 km

Today, your route takes you to the gold town of Pforzheim. The center of the German jewelry and watch industry is the gateway to the Black Forest. You cycle against the direction of flow along the River Enz. The path leads through placid woodlands where you'll breathe the salubrious air of the Black Forest. Cycling past Höfen and Calmbach until you reach Bad Wildbad - today's final destination. We would recommend to spend the rest of the day at one of the two famous thermal baths.

Day 4: Bad Wildbad – Freudenstadt, approx. 45 km + summer mountain railroad

The third stage takes you along the Black Forest panoramic bike path. The day begins with a ride on the Sommerbergbahn cable car. The cable car transports you and your bike up to the high plateau of the Sommerberg. Once at the top, take the time to visit the treetop path. Here you will experience the Black Forest from a different perspective. You then cycle past the marshland to Kaltenbronn and Seewald-Besenfeld. The stage ends in Freudenstadt. Here, you'll have the opportunity to stroll through Germany's largest market square.

Day 5: Freudenstadt – Hechingen, approx. 60 km

Your bike tour takes you further across Baden-Württemberg. Today you will leave the Black Forest behind, cross the river Neckar and climb the hills of the Swabian Alb. Shortly, before you reach today's destination- Hechingen, you will pass a Roman estate. The site is now an open-air museum. The town's landmark, Hohenzollern Castle, which can be seen from afar, bears witness to a different era. It is enthroned prominently on a mountain cone. A visit to the ancestral seat of the former Prussian royal family is well worth the steep climb. You can explore the castle's magnificent interior on a guided tour.

Day 6: Hechingen – Tuttlingen, approx. 65 km

On the fifth stage, you will experience the unique natural and cultural landscape of the Swabian Alb by bike. The path begins in Hechingen via Balingen and Gosheim. Here, climbs alternate with high plateaus that are characteristic of the Albs. In Schömberg, a reservoir offers you the opportunity to refresh yourself. No matter where you take a break: enjoy the opportunity to sample one of the many specialties of Swabian cuisine! This is the ideal reward for the kilometers you have already covered. With a well-filled stomach, you roll down into the Danube valley towards Tuttlingen.

Day 7: Tuttlingen – Sigmaringen, approx. 55 km

Today you follow the Danube through the Upper Danube Nature Park. You will enjoy one of the most scenic and idyllic sections of the river. At Beuron you cycle through the spectacular Danube Gorge. It is well worth visiting the Beuron Archabbey with its almost thousand-years of history. Framed by the Danube and towering limestone cliffs, you cycle on to Sigmaringen. Sigmaringen's townscape is dominated by the imposing Hohenzollern castle. You can learn more about the history of the eponymous noble family on a guided tour of the castle.

Day 8: Sigmaringen – Ludwigshafen / Überlingen, approx. 50 / 60 km

Shortly past Sigmaringen, you will reach the town of Inzigkofen. The 25-hectare Princely Park on both sides of the Danube, a wildly romantic landscape garden with historical garden architecture, is well worth a visit. Via Meßkirch, you approach Lake Constance, the last of the many highlights of your bike tour across Baden-Württemberg. Take the time to explore the town of Meßkirch. Stroll through its medieval streets or a visit the Meßkirch Castle.

Once you reach Ludwigshafen at the Lake Constance -you are done for the day. Get off your bike and dip at least one toe into the Swabian Sea!

Day 9: Überlingen – Constance, approx. 20 / 30 km + ferry ride

You cycle along the Lake Constance cycle path from Überlingen with its famous lakeside promenade towards Meersburg. You cycle past the baroque pilgrimage church of Birnau, which is well worth seeing, and the reconstructed pile dwellings near Uhldingen. In Meersburg, a stroll through the picturesque old town is well worthwhile. From the lower town, idyllic alleyways and steps lead up to the upper town. From there you have a wonderful view of the opposite shore of Lake Constance. Take the car ferry to Constance. The largest and probably most beautiful city on Lake Constance is the end point of your journey. The final stage is the shortest of the entire cycle tour, giving you enough time to explore the Council City
