Experience Jasmund National Park and the Vorpommern Bodden landscape, not forgetting the Mecklenburg Lake District and Müritz. Sea and sand are what you'll find at the Baltic Sea islands of Rügen, Hiddensee, and Usedom. A fresh breeze in your hair, get to know the area and the people along the well-developed network of cycle paths in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern on your bike.
Fresh, fresher, freshest! In Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and above all on the Baltic coast, fresh fish is simply the best! Either freshly prepared or smoked over beech wood, fish fans will get what they're looking for. Down to earth and flavorsome - these words come to mind when you're served kale with raisins and roast goose with baked plums. Then a piece of sea-buckthorn flan and a shot of caraway-seed schnaps for dessert! Cheers!
Show more Show lessThe classic tour of the Mecklenburg Baltic coast is the Baltic coast cycle path from Lübeck to Stralsund. Before you get to Boltenhagen, visit the medieval city center of Lübeck and St. Mary's church. Pay a visit to the Holsten gate at the marzipan museum and stop to see Buddenbrook House. Your journey takes you further east to the Hanseatic city of Wismar, to the Fischland-Darß peninsula to Stralsund. Here, visit the maritime museum in an old abbey or stroll along the harbor road with views of Rügen bridge and the island of Rügen.
You can get to know Rügen better on our two-islands tour. This tour takes you to the sunny island of Usedom and the Stettin Lagoon. The island of Rügen with its two national parks, Vorpommersche Boddenlandschaft and Jasmund, the chalk cliffs, and the Sassnitz ferry port of Mukran, is a charming place to visit. The sun-drenched island of Usedom, with its unspoiled nature, long sandy beaches, and piers, was already popular in imperial times. If you have a few more days to spare, why not try out or longer cycling holiday to see more of Rügen, Hiddensee and Usedom.

This varied tour takes you from the "queen of the Hanse" along the Baltic coast to the time-honored Hanseatic town of Wismar. As part of the tour, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern's capital of Schwerin is in no way inferior to Wismar. The town beckons with its island castle, gardens and parks, and many historic buildings and wonderfully situated on Schwerin Lake - a perfect place for walks and boat trips. Further along the old Salt Road, your route takes you through the Till Eulenspiegel town of Mölln and the island town of Ratzeburg.
Arriving by bike? No problem! On the family tour starting in Lübeck, you cycle the Baltic coast cycle path in short, child-friendly sections, to the Hanseatic town of Rostock. Hop into the Baltic along the way, have a break on the beach, admire the lighthouses, and watch the big ships on the horizon. Similarly, relaxing activities are to be had on a family cycling holiday on Rügen. Combined with a trip to the island of Hiddensee, enjoy the leisure of this nine-day holiday and explore Rügen with your family.
A similarly excellent cycle path takes you from Berlin to the Danish capital of Copenhagen. After you set off in busy Berlin, Stechlin Nature Park awaits you - Ruppiner Land and Nossentiner / Schwinzer Heath - with peace, calm, and relaxation. From Rostock, you cross to Gedser on Falster Island by ferry. Welcome to Denmark! Enjoy beautiful sections to cycle over the dikes, through harbor towns, passing prehistoric grave sites, and to Copenhagen. Stop every now and then to go hunting for shells on the beaches. With its almost 1000-year-old history, Copenhagen has a multitude of historic landmarks and sights to enjoy.
At the east border to Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, the Oder-Neisse cycle path comes to an end. The destination, the island of Usedom, is some 600 kilometers away. From the Brandenburg town of Schwedt, the cycle path begins its final spurt to the Baltic. From there, it takes you through hilly countryside, full of woodland, on to one of the oldest places in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, to Löcknitz, to the small harbor town of Ueckermünde and then to the wide Baltic coast beaches of Usedom.
