Travel report: The Lake Constance cycle tour

Raymond and Alexander opted for our classic Lake Constance bike tour when looking for a father-son vacation. They enjoyed the time on their bikes, the peace and quiet in idyllic places and many an exciting highlight, such as a visit to the Rhine Falls in Schaffhausen.

I planned the tour together with my son (25 years old) as a father-son tour and the expectations of a wonderful shared experience were fulfilled 100%.
Arrival in Constance
After arriving in Constance and checking into the cosy hotel, it took us around 20 minutes to get to the Radweg-Reisen bike base. The reception there was friendly and extremely helpful. We felt very well looked after. All requests for changes (saddle position, panniers etc.) were taken into account. There was a delicious ice cream straight away.
The bikes
The e-bikes were almost new and always accompanied us reliably during the trip. Even tall people can ride very comfortably on these bikes.
Routes & paths
The tour is perfectly planned and mostly very well signposted. I can't say whether it was down to us or the signposting that we got lost two or three times. However, extremely helpful people showed us the right way every time.
The great thing was that we always met very friendly people along the way. I called the Radweg Reisen hotline with a query and, to my great delight, the phone was picked up immediately and I was given a helpful answer.
Although it was mid-July, you could say that the number of cyclists was very moderate along the entire route. In some cases, we were able to ride the routes completely alone for many kilometers.
The hotels
The accommodation was always of a high quality, some with excellent service and food. The breakfast buffet was always of a high quality. All hotels were prepared for cyclists and offered appropriate services and parking facilities. This applies to the A category, which I can recommend without reservation.
The stages
Thanks to the e-bikes, the routes can also be easily mastered by riders who do not cycle regularly. This is because the routes are mostly flat. The climbs can then be mastered with more assistance. We highly recommend the secluded spots off the cycle path, which you can spot at any time. You can spend a few wonderful romantic minutes or even hours there without being disturbed. Simply wonderful!
Conclusion
The bike trip was a wonderful experience for both me (60 years old) and my son (25 years old), which we will remember for a long time and would like to repeat again if necessary.
