The cycling is on this bathing cruise exceptionally in the background: you are namely not only on the saddle, but also on foot and with the kayak on the way. Be it a city tour, a short hike, the visit of a fragrance garden or a kayak tour through the Zrmanja Canyon - the program is so varied that there is something for really every taste. Of course, swimming is not neglected on the bathing cruise in the Kvarner Bay: as soon as the ship is at anchor, you can jump directly from it into the crystal clear waves of the Adriatic Sea! The daily excursions on the islands of the Kvarner Bay have one thing in common: they are relaxed and can be managed comfortably even by families and the inexperienced. And if you don't feel like going ashore, you can just stay on board and let the sun shine on your belly button.
After Captain Jure Tomaš installed a new engine in his MS Planka, the ship was completely reconstructed in 2005. Meanwhile, Jure's older son Marin is at the helm of this classic wooden ship. You'll travel personally cared for by the crew, who cook delicious, regional meals for you daily. On the huge sun deck you can lie relaxed and should it get too hot, just jump directly from the ship into the crystal clear Mediterranean Sea to refresh yourself.
More elegant than ever - so the MS Kapetan Kuka sets sail! Pero, tireless captain, made his comeback in 2016 by buying the ship. With heart and soul, he thoroughly overhauled the ship. The new cabin facilities and the new bathing platform at the stern are a great result! While Sandra-Marie, German-Croatian daughter of the captain, prepares delicious meals for you, you can relax on the large sun deck. If it gets too hot, just jump straight off the ship into the crystal-clear Mediterranean to refresh yourself.
Since his son took over the helm of MS Planka in 2015, Captain Jure Tomaš has been looking after his new ship, the MS Aria. Aria, by the way, stands for air in the Dalmatian dialect. The majestic motor sailer set sail for the first time in spring 2016. Look forward to cruising on a new, comfortable ship, being pampered by the crew and relaxing in a deck chair on the large sun deck from the wonderful cycling tours. The jump into the crystal clear water can be done quite comfortably from the bathing platform.
Show more Show lessThe crew of your ship awaits you between 11:00 and 12:30 in the port of Rijeka for your bathing cruise!
At a welcome drink you will get to know the crew and fellow travelers, while your romantic motor sailer sets sail for the first time.
On the way, a stop will be made in one of the bays, so that you can dare the long-awaited, first jump into the sea!
Arrived on the island of Cres, you can join a walk by the sea. After dinner, there will be plenty of time for a stroll around town.
During the crossing to the island of Lošinj, you will observe the passing Kvarner Bay. With a little luck, you may spot a group of Adriatic dolphins today, which feel particularly at home around the island of Lošinj.
After lunch on board, you will moor in the port of Mali Lošinj. Afterwards, you can join the bike tour to the picturesque town of Veli Lošinj. On the way back, you will visit a nearby "Mediterranean Fragrance Garden". During a guided tour you will learn more about the approximately 250 different fragrant plants that grow and thrive in the garden.
Pine forests and spruces cover the largely natural island of Molat, which you will explore today either during an easy hike on foot or a relaxed bike ride on the saddle. You will be back on board in time for lunch.
During the crossing to Zadar, the former capital of Dalmatia, the bathing cruise continues to live up to its name: In a bay, the anchor is dropped for an extensive bathing break. Pure vacation! The old town of Zadar, your destination today, is surrounded by mighty walls. During an entertaining guided tour of the city, you will learn all sorts of interesting facts about the time-honored buildings and their history.
Today you will leave the sea and paddle on the river Zrmanja to the canyon of the same name. A bus transfer will take you to the entry point, where you will also pick up your kayak. The karst river glistens in the typical emerald green color, a wonderful picture! After a few bends and rapids, enchanting waterfalls await you at one of the most beautiful places on the river. Splashing in the water here is a unique experience.
After a picnic, you will continue paddling through the Zrmanja canyon and can best observe the many chirping birds from the water. After the tour, the bus will take you back to your ship in Mandre.
Note: If the water level is very high, the excursion will be carried out with large inflatable boats (rafting).
Today you take the island of Pag with its partly barren, partly lush green meadows, a little closer under the magnifying glass: More precisely, you sail to Lun on the northwestern tip of the island. A remarkable 80,000 olive trees grow here! And even more impressive: Some of them have already reached an age of about 1200 years! You will learn all this and more during a guided tour through the grove. After an extensive bathing break, the ship crosses over to Rab. The old town of Rab stretches over an elongated headland. The characteristic bell towers of the four churches can be seen from afar. If you wish, you can take part in the guided tour to the most important buildings of the town.
On Rab you have several options to explore the island: Either on an easy bike ride or a mountain hike. On foot you climb the Kamenjak, which rises 408 m above the sea. An impressive panorama opens up from its summit: your view sweeps over the Kvarner Bay with its islands and nature parks, the small and large towns and the seemingly endless expanse of the Mediterranean.
Back on board, you will immediately head for one of the numerous secluded bays - the bathing cruise lives up to its name on this vacation day as well! The next destination is the island of Krk, which is one of the largest islands in the Adriatic. The evening ends with a cozy Captain's Dinner.
If you wish, start the day with a leisurely stroll through the city. Since today is your last day on board the ship, a particularly long swimming break is on the program. Hop right off the ship into the crystal clear waves!
Then set course for Rijeka. After the ship is safely moored, there is enough time for a hike to the pilgrimage site Trsat, which is located above the city. The climb of 485 steps is worth it, because from the fortress you have a wonderful view over the Kvarner Bay and the route of your bathing cruise.
