Day 1: Individual arrival in Desenzano

Desenzano, situated on the southwestern shore of Italy's largest lake, has a rich history as a vital trading post during the Middle Ages. After settling into your accommodation here explore the city. Take a leisurely walk along the Lungolago Cesare Battisti lakeside promenade, explore the charming Piazza Matteotti. Cross the Ponte alla Veneziana bridge to reach the picturesque old harbor of Porto Vecchio. 
Visit nearby Sirmione to relax at one of islands various bathing spots. Wellness enthusiasts will also find the thermal baths in the area a perfect retreat for rejuvenation.

Day 2: Excursion to Trento, approx. 50 km + boat trip and bus transfer

The first day of your Lake Garda Cycling holiday begins with a minibus ride to Trento. Here you'll have ample time to explore the cultural landmarks of this charming Alpine city. Visit the impressive Bishop's Castle and the Neptune Fountain in the cathedral square. Afterward, continue your journey by bike along the Adige River. Upon reaching Mori, be sure to stop by Gelateria Bologna, where you can indulge in their renowned pistachio ice cream. Refreshed, you’ll hardly notice the short climb ahead. The ride continues with a scenic descent toward the lake, providing a perfect opportunity to relax your legs. From Riva, a boat will take you back to Sirmione, allowing you to unwind and enjoy the stunning views as you cruise along the water.

Day 3: Excursion to Verona, approx. 55 km + train ride

Take the train from Lake Garda to Verona, where you'll embark on a leisurely stroll through this captivating city, steeped in history and culture. As you explore, you'll discover numerous historical landmarks, including magnificent Renaissance palaces and the iconic Roman Arena, world-famous for its opera performances. Step into the world of Shakespeare as you visit sites associated with Romeo and Juliet scattered throughout the city. After immersing yourself in Verona’s timeless beauty, you'll leave the city behind and cycle through gentle hills, passing cypress trees and vineyards, until you reach your final destination—the southern shore of Lake Garda.

Day 4: Excursion to Mantua, approx. 65 km + train ride

Today's excursion on your cycling vacation at Lake Garda takes you south, following the scenic paths along the River Mincio to the historic city of Mantua. As you cycle, enjoy the changing landscape, with bamboo groves, tree-lined avenues, and small woodlands offering a tranquil backdrop. Surrounded by lakes on three sides, the city of Mantua appears almost like an island from a distance. Upon arrival, explore its many sights, with the grand Palazzo Ducale standing out as a major highlight, featuring 450 rooms. If you prefer nature over culture, embark on a boat trip around the surrounding lakes, where you'll encounter rare water birds and vibrant carpets of lotus flowers. After your day of exploration, return to Lake Garda on a relaxed train journey.

Day 5: Excursion to Solferino, approx. 50 km

Today, you’ll cycle leisurely along tranquil paths through scenic wine-growing areas and lush kiwi plantations on your way to Solferino. The town is famous for the historic Battle of Solferino, where the Kingdom of Sardinia secured a crucial victory over Austria in 1859. A small museum commemorates this pivotal event, which played a key role in the reunification of Italy and the founding of the Red Cross. After visiting the museum, take a stroll through the charming town center, with its narrow streets and traditional Italian flat-roofed houses. As Lake Garda is not far away, you can choose to cycle back today, following flat paths through the region where the renowned sparkling wines of Lugana are produced.

Day 6: Excursion to Brescia, approx. 60 km + train ride

Today, you’ll cycle along the lakeshore towards Cavalgese di Riviera, taking in the breathtaking views of Lake Garda, which sparkles like a blue-green emerald in the sunlight. Following the Naviglio Grande canal, with its scenic cycle path, you’ll soon reach Brescia. This charming provincial capital of Lombardy is rich in architectural heritage, with buildings spanning various historical periods. Surrounded by rolling hills dotted with quaint villages, Brescia is a city steeped in history. At the heart of the city, the Cidneo hill offers a stunning vantage point, where you can enjoy magnificent views over the old town and beyond. Afterward, take the train back to Lake Garda, reflecting on your memorable journey.
