Our cycling vacation takes you through Germany's largest federal state in three weeks - bavaria. It starts in the festival city Bayreuth. You soon follow the course of the River Main. After a detour to the Regnitz in Bamberg, you cycle relaxed to Schweinfurt, along the Volkacher Mainschleife, into the old episcopal city of Würzburg and past Wertheim Castle. It won't be hard to say goodbye to the Main, as the next stages of the Bavaria cycle tour take you into the equally beautiful Tauber valley, which is famous for its wine-growing, the Renaissance castle in Weikersheim and the medieval town of Rothenburg. A few kilometers away, you cycle along the Franconian Rezat and get to know the baroque town of Ansbach. You cycle imperceptibly through the Franconian Lake District, including the Altmühlsee and the Altmühl, which you follow leisurely past Pappenheim Castle, the Twelve Apostles and the baroque town of Eichstätt to Kelheim. The Bavarian cycle tour continues along the Danube, which you accompany on three stages. One of the destinations is Regensburg, whose old town ensemble is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. From Deggendorf, the journey takes you to the Isar. Stage by stage, you cycle through the foothills of the Alps, including the well-known towns of Landshut and Freising. A trip to Munich is of course a must on the Bavaria cycle tour. However, the Bavaria cycle tour is not only full of exciting places that you will get to know, the abundance of landscapes, nature parks, castles, palaces and of course the varied Bavarian cuisine also offer the perfect conditions for a successful vacation.

Bamberg is no less architecturally interesting. The town on the Regnitz is surrounded by picturesque hills and has a rich history that is still reflected in many of its buildings today.
