Day 1: Individual arrival in Bamberg

Welcome to Bamberg! The city is known as Frankish Rome due to its location on seven hills. There are many sights worth seeing in the city that you can explore during your cycling vacation in Bamberg. Be it the cathedral with its four towers, which dominates the silhouette of the old town, the Old Town Hall, which was built into the Regnitz, or the Franconian Brewery Museum, which provides information about the brewing tradition in Franconia - you will have plenty of time to take a close look at everything in the coming days.

Day 2: Excursion through the main moorland forest (beer cellar tour), approx. 35 km

Today's day on your cycling vacation in Bamberg is all about beer. You set off in the morning and arrive at Seehof Castle, a former summer residence and hunting lodge of the Bamberg prince-bishops. After an exploratory tour, you follow the cycle path of the brewery and beer cellar tour. You will come across numerous beer cellars, pubs and breweries and get to know the special beer diversity and tradition of Upper Franconia. In Wernsdorf, visit the medieval castle of the same name, the oldest parts of which date back to the 12th century. Follow the Main-Danube Canal for the last few kilometers back to Bamberg.

Day 3: Excursion to Haßfurt, approx. 65 km

Leaving Bierfranken behind you, today you take a detour through the vineyards of Weinfranken. Following the Main Cycle Path, you soon reach Trunstadt with its castle of the same name. Via the half-timbered and wine town of Zeil am Main, your route takes you to Hassfurt, idyllically situated between the Hassberge and Steigerwald nature parks. The town is rich in architectural monuments such as the knight's chapel of St. Maria designed by Tilmann Riemenschneider, the historic town hall and the two gate towers that border the old town. Take a stroll through the winding alleyways before heading back to Bamberg.

Start the day comfortably with a short train ride (not included) to Lichtenfels. The town is known far and wide for its wickerwork culture and is known as the German Wickerwork Town. Then hop on your bike to cycle back to Bamberg on the Main Cycle Path. On the way, you will come across two magnificent buildings near Bad Staffelstein. Banz Abbey is located on a mountain spur, while the baroque Vierzehnheiligen pilgrimage church is on the opposite side. On we go! The Main winds its way through a magnificent meadow landscape in numerous river meanders. You pass picturesque little villages and lakes, which are perfect for a short or longer break.

Past lush forests and along the Rauhe Ebrach, you reach Burgebrach. The town is considered the eastern gateway to the Steigerwald and is home to the parish church of St. Vitus, which is well worth seeing. Passing the magnificent Steigerwald Nature Park, you reach Pommersfelden. Here you will find the baroque Weissenstein Castle. Let yourself be fascinated on a guided tour (included) of this Franconian Baroque gem built in the early 18th century.
