Upper Swabia with its beautiful landscape is perfectly suited to this cycling tour. Those cyclists who are interested in a sporty and challenging tour, can explore the hilly landscape of Lake Constance hinterland, between the Danube and the Lake, crossing over the Württembergian Allgäu. The contrast between the buzz of Lake Constance with its impressive Alpine panorama and the peaceful landscapes of the Wurzer Ried and Federsee Lake is particularly attractive.
Your bike tour on the Danube-Lake Constance Cycle Path begins in Constance, the largest city on the lake. 600 years ago, it was the scene of the only papal conclave north of the Alps. The river Rhine is born from the Lake Constance here. Here we are at the kilometer 0 on the river's way to the North Sea. Also take a stroll through the historic fisherman's quarter near the Danube river where you will find the world's crookedest hotel, which has even made it into the Guinness Book of Records.
If you want to make the most of the charming landscape, choose the 10-kilometre longer stage from Rottenacker via Blaubeuren and the Blautopf.
Gentle hills, marshlands and silted lakes characterize the route in northern Upper Swabia. But culture is not neglected either, as you will come across the impressive Imperial Abbey in Ochsenhausen. Here Benedictine monks lived and worked for over 800 years. Bad Wurzach, today's destination is primarily known as a mud spa. It is a great place to relax with a mud treatment at the hot springs.

Now follow its shores past Lindau to the Vorarlberg state capital of Bregenz. Bregenz's local mountain, the Pfänder, is the most famous vantage point in the region and a challenge even for fit cyclists.
