The largest of the Balearic Islands is the focus of our bike tour in Mallorca. The island, bursting with diversity and joie de vivre, will inspire you from the first day. Get to know Mallorca far away from crowded beaches and tourist strongholds. The starting point of our bike tour in Mallorca is Playa de Palma. Along the coast you will cycle to the settlement of Capocorb Vell and the salt fields around Colònia Sant Jordi. The dragon caves of Porto Cristo and the pearl town of Manacor are also highlights of our bike tour in Mallorca, as is a detour into the Tramuntana mountains.
Picturesque bays, secluded beaches, rolling hills and dreamy villages – get to know the unknown sides of Spain‘s most popular vacation island on our bike tour in Mallorca. Whether on the coast or inland, let yourself be enchanted by Majorcan lifestyle and culture. The easy to moderately difficult stages are well manageable for ambitious as well as experienced cyclists. Vamos!
Welcome to Mallorca! You start your cycle tour on Mallorca in Playa de Palma, a district of Palma. Located not far from the island's capital Palma de Mallorca, the beach of the same name is the most famous on the island. After arriving at your hotel, treat yourself to a refreshing dip in the sea or a long walk along the beach.
A personal information meeting will take place in the morning at your first hotel. If you have booked a rental bike, you will also receive it at this time. Off you go! You cycle not far from the coast to the prehistoric settlement of Capocorb Vell. With the typical Mallorcan windmills in view, you reach the salt pans around Colònia Sant Jordi, your destination for today. It is worth making a detour to the nearby Es Trenc beach. It is considered one of the most beautiful beaches on the island.
On today's stage of your cycle tour on Mallorca, you will cycle not far from the coast to Cala Santanyi. Enjoy relaxing moments on the beach in the town's bay before continuing northwards. You have reached your destination for the day in the coastal town of Porto Cristo. The Coves del Drac are located not far from the town centre. The well-developed dragon caves take you on a journey into the world of stalactites and stalagmites and underground lakes. Lake Martel is one of the largest underground lakes in the world.
Your cycle tour on Mallorca takes you to the north-east of the island today. You will reach Manacor via the tranquil Son Carrió. The town is famous for the production of Majorica pearls. These are produced artificially and are difficult to distinguish from real mother-of-pearl pearls. A stopover in Petra is worthwhile, especially as a typical "Mallorcan lunch snack" awaits you here. The birthplace of the town's most famous son, Junípero Serra, is now home to a museum that traces the history of the founder of San Francisco. In C'an Picafort you are back by the sea. Visit the white beaches along the coast and experience relaxing moments with a view of the bay of Alcúdia.
You don't have to pack your suitcase for today. Cycle along the coast through the S'Albufera nature reserve. Enjoy the tranquillity away from the hustle and bustle. Discover the greatest biodiversity of the Balearic Islands. The first destination of your excursion day is Alcúdia, one of the oldest towns on Mallorca. Founded on a Roman settlement, the medieval old town welcomes you with a walkable city wall. A little further north, the beaches of the Bay of Pollença offer you the chance to sunbathe. In the former fishing village of Port de Pollença, it is worth taking a long walk through the historic alleyways before returning to C'an Picafort.
From the sea, you first cycle inland via the small town of Muro to Inca. Situated at the foot of the Tramuntana mountains, the town is known as the leather capital of Mallorca. From Inca, a bus (included) will take you to Lluc Monastery. A visit to this important place of pilgrimage is possible. The transfer takes you up to 1200 metres. Back on the bike, you cycle down to Fornalutx. It is considered one of the most beautiful villages in Spain. Accompanied by orange and lemon plantations, you cycle to Port de Sóller, your destination for today's stage.
Today is the last stage of your cycle tour on Mallorca. Catch one last marvellous view over the sea. Cycle past the picturesque villages of Deia and Valldemossa to reach Palma de Mallorca. Stroll through the winding alleyways of the old town and get to know Le Seu, the impressive cathedral that can be seen from afar. Back on your bike, cycle along the white sandy beach to Playa de Palma.
