By bike and boat on the Ionian Islands

The enchanting island of Corfu lies on the northern Ionian Sea, which meets the Adriatic here. The picturesque terrain full of green rocky slopes jutting out into the turquoise water immediately creates a relaxed feeling. The many small bays complete the picture. The island's eventful past can be seen today in the diverse appearance of the towns and their architecture. Embarkation takes place in the afternoon. The fresh wind blows around you on the crossing to the Greek west coast. Now you're ready to go! Your first cycle tour begins in the small coastal town of Syvota, which stretches out on the gentle hills along the sea. A Venetian fortress from the 16th century towers above the town of Parga. From there you have a fantastic view of the rugged rocky hills of the Greek coast. From here, you will cross over to the next island. You will land on Lefkada in the lively port town of Nydri, where you will immediately feel welcome.

In the morning, you will explore a nearby waterfall before driving along lonely roads through the mountains to the sun-drenched harbor town of Sivota. The town lies in a sheltered bay surrounded by green hills and lush forests. We then take the boat to Fiskardo on the island of Kefalonia. A magnificent backdrop can be seen from afar: the sharp-edged gray Lefkadian cliffs stand out against the crystal-clear water and white sandy beaches. The island of Kefalonia probably corresponds to the island of Same, over which Odysseus ruled. Relics from Mycenaean times have also been found here.

After leaving the bay of Fiskado, climb the impressive mountain road on the west coast. Enjoy the unforgettable panorama with a view of Myrtos beach. The area around the marble-white pebble beach is protected and therefore offers a unique natural experience. A visit to the stalactite cave of Melissani is an adventure. The sparkling cave can only be reached by rowing boat. Then it's off to Ithaca by boat!

On his way home, Odysseus had to endure numerous adventures and trials. But don't worry, you don't have to fear sea monsters or sirens on your way. Explore the island of Ithaca without a care in the world. The gnarled olive trees, the deep blue sea and the cozy islanders give the area the typical Greek island charm. From Frikes, the boat takes you to the tiny island of Meganisi.

Today you will explore the island of Meganisi on a bike tour along the lonely island roads. Afterwards, treat yourself to an extensive coffee and swimming break on the beach at Spartochori. From here, you can see the nearby island of Skorpios, which the Greek shipowner Arisoteles Onassis acquired in 1963. Five years later, he married the former First Lady Jackie Kennedy on Skorpios. Back on board the MS Panagiota, enjoy the long crossing to the natural harbor of Gaios on the island of Paxos. On this smallest of the Ionian islands, the locals still live mainly from wine and olive growing.

This tiny island is perfect for a bike tour around the island. You can take a break whenever you feel like it and linger on one of the beautiful beaches. After lunch, you will sail back to your starting point of Corfu. In the capital of the same name, with its enchanting Venetian old town, you can bring the trip to a pleasant close with a glass of Greek wine.
