Noteable among them is Egeskov Slot. It is one of the most beautiful moated castles in Europe and boasts an extensive park. You reach your destination for the day at the cozy harbour town of Svendborg. Pay a visit to Anne Hvides Gård, the oldest surviving residential building of the town. Or how about a walk along the harbor to get in the mood for the days ahead?
Today's stage of your bike tour from Odense to Kiel takes you via Svendborgsundbroen to the island of Tåsinge. You pass the sailing town of Troense and Valdemars Slot. It was built in the 17th century and is located directly by the sea. You reach Langeland via Siødæmningen, the small island of Siø and Langelandsbroen. From Spodsbjerg you can enjoy the view of the sea, while the ferry takes you to Lolland. Your destination for the day, Nakskov, is only a few kilometers away.
You will get to know Lolland today following a mostly even bike path. Long sandy beaches, dense forests and expansive fields accompany your way. Follow the bike path past the harbor town of Kragenæs until you reach the Dodekalitten. The modern work of art is arranged as a stone circle and consists of 12 sculptures reaching up to nine meters high. Nearby is Bandholm and the Knuthenborg Safari Park, Northern Europe's largest safari and adventure park. A few kilometers south you reach Maribo. You will spend the night in Bandholm or Maribo.
Today we travel from the island of Lolland to Fehmarn. A ferry will take you from Rødby to the sun-drenched island of Fehmarn. Here you will find stunning sandy beaches, cliffs, dunes and nature reserves. Treat yourself to a break in Burg, the island's main city. Then take the Fehmarnsund Bridge back to the mainland. You have reached today's destination once you arrive at Heiligenhafen. The town is popular with water sports enthusiasts, sailors, and nature enthusiasts. Take a guided tour through the Graswarder nature reserve or just watch the seagulls fly over the Baltic Sea.
Today's stage of your bike tour from Odense to Kiel takes you inland from the Baltic Sea to Oldenburg. Through fields, forests and meadows, you will reach a charming little town. It is ideal for a break. Take a stroll through the old ramparts or enjoy a coffee at the market square. Your tour takes you imperceptibly through Holstein Switzerland. Hilly landscapes, numerous lakes and forests form the landscape. In the middle of it all is the city of Eutin awaiting you with its impressive castle and the large Eutiner Lake.
You cycle through a beautiful lake landscape to Plön. The town's landmark is its 17th century castle. Originally built in the Renaissance style, it was later given a Baroque makeover. Continue to the shoemaker town Preetz. Pay a visit to the monastery and treat yourself to a dip in Lake Lank. Cycle along the River Schwentine to Kiel. The state capital of Schleswig-Holstein is not only an important naval base, but also a culturally interesting walk able city.
