Welcome to Lanzarote! After the transfer from Arrecife airport to the hotel in Costa Teguise, a popular vacation resort on the east coast, your bike tour in Lanzarote begins. Stroll along the palm-fringed beach promenade or relax on the fine sandy beaches. The lively atmosphere and the crystal-clear waters of the Atlantic invite you to arrive and enjoy.
The first stage takes you to the green north of the island. You will pass the famous Jardín de Cactus, a fascinating cactus garden created by the artist César Manrique in a former quarry pit. On the coast, you will reach the charming village of Arrieta before heading to Jameos del Agua. This impressive cave landscape was also designed by César Manrique and offers a fascinating combination of nature and art. From here, the trail leads up to Ye, at the foot of the La Corona volcano. Continue to the Mirador del Río - a viewpoint with breathtaking views of the island of La Graciosa. Finally, you roll relaxed down into the green valley of Haría, which offers a pleasant change from the otherwise barren volcanic landscape with its palm groves.
Today, your bike tour in Lanzarote takes you to the middle of the island to San Bartolomé. From Haría, the road winds its way down to Teguise, the former capital of Lanzarote. The drive offers spectacular views of the coast. Teguise itself enchants with traditional architecture, cosy cafés and a historic center. The tour then continues to San Bartolomé and the famous wine-growing region of La Geria, which offers a unique landscape with its vines embedded in black volcanic ash. Excellent Malvasia wine is produced here. The overnight stay is in or near Teguise.
Create today entirely according to your wishes. Stay in Teguise and enjoy the relaxed flair of the historic town or go on a varied circular tour. This first takes you to the extensive beach of Famara, which is framed by imposing cliffs. You cycle further along the coast before cycling back to Teguise through a fascinating lava landscape. A perfect combination of relaxation and activity!
The route leads through the vast lava fields of Timanfaya National Park to the south of the island. This is where the volcanic nature of Lanzarote is at its most spectacular. The huge eruptions between 1730 and 1736 buried a quarter of the island under lava and created the impressive landscape that is now one of the most impressive on the Canary Islands. A highlight is the visit to the Montañas del Fuego, where you can experience the volcanic activity up close. The route then continues to the El Golfo volcanic crater with its striking emerald-green lagoon. Further south, Playa Blanca awaits with white sandy beaches and crystal-clear water – perfect for a well-earned refreshment after the stage.
Today, a trip to the neighboring island of Fuerteventura is tempting: the ferry to Corralejo (not included) takes you to an impressive nature park with extensive dune landscapes – ideal for an exploration tour. Those who prefer to stay on Lanzarote can discover the pristine Papagayo beaches, which are among the most beautiful on the island, or relax in Playa Blanca and enjoy the maritime flair. A trip to El Golfo offers the opportunity to enjoy fresh seafood directly on the black lava beach, another highlight of your bike tour in Lanzarote.
The last stage leads along the coast back to the island's capital, Arrecife. The route first takes you through the fascinating wine-growing region of La Geria, where the vines are artfully planted in volcanic rock to create a unique landscape. Then head towards the coast to Puerto del Carmen, where a picturesque promenade stretches along the shore. Enjoy the ride with a view of the Atlantic. Your cycle tour ends in Arrecife with a leisurely evening in the port city, where a stroll along the charming inland port of El Charco is well worthwhile.
