The active bike tour starts in Constance, the largest city on Lake Constance, and takes you to the most beautiful places around one of the largest lakes in Central Europe in just a few days. You will cover an average of 70 kilometers per stage. But don't worry, thanks to the well-developed and almost slope-free Lake Constance Cycle Path, you will have enough time to concentrate on the most beautiful thing on the bike tour from Constance: The cycling! In order to take a break in between, there are numerous sights and historical places along the Lower and Upper Lake as well as along the Rhine to get to know the region and its history. Or how about a bathing break in one of the open-air swimming pools along the lakeshore including a view of the Alps? Look forward to a beautiful and entertaining trip on the active bike tour from Constance, which you will keep in good memory.
Welcome to the largest city on the lake! Before you set off on your bike tour in Constance tomorrow, stroll through the narrow streets of Niederburg, climb the tower of the cathedral and pay a visit to Imperia at the harbor. In the evening, treat yourself to a cool beer in one of Constance's beer gardens or a full-bodied Baden wine in one of the wine taverns.
On the first stage of your bike tour from Constance, you will first cycle along the Lake Constance Cycle Path in the direction of Radolfzell. With a view of the island of Reichenau, you will reach the small town on the Lower Lake quite quickly. The route continues over the idyllic Höri peninsula. Stein am Rhein is another highlight of the day ahead of you. The old town is not only bursting with neat medieval half-timbered houses, but is also perfect for a longer break. After you have crossed the Rhine, you will cycle along its southern bank and again along Untersee back to Constance.
First you cycle to the district of Staad in Constance. Take the ferry to Meersburg on the opposite side of the lake. Visit Meersburg Castle and the old town before you reach Friedrichshafen on the Lake Constance Cycle Path via Immenstaad. Here, a visit to the Zeppelin Museum is worthwhile. Afterwards you cycle through orchards to Lindau. The small Bavarian town has a beautiful old town, which is located on an island. A few kilometers away, you will almost imperceptibly cross the border to Austria and arrive in Bregenz. The city is famous for the Bregenz Festival, which attracts a large audience every summer with the largest lake stage in the world. You will spend the night in Lindau or in Bregenz.
The last stage of your bike tour takes you back to Constance. On the Lake Constance Cycle Path, you will pass the Rhine delta. This is where the Alpine Rhine flows into Lake Constance. Just a stone's throw away, you will cross the Austrian-Swiss border and cycle relaxed along the shore through the towns of Rorschach, Arbon and Romanshorn. Back in Constance, you will look back on a short but varied tour. Finally, enjoy the view of the Alps from the lakeside road or sample the hearty Baden cuisine.
