It's true that you can't discover Bavaria's highest point by bike. After all, the summit of the Zugspitze is at 2962 m. But on a cycling holiday through Upper Bavaria, you can get very close to the highest mountain in Germany and perhaps take the Zugspitzbahn from Garmisch-Partenkirchen for a leisurely ride to the summit.
But instead, you can reach the lowest point in Bavaria on a cycling tour along the Main: Kahl am Main, located between Aschaffenburg and Frankfurt, is at 100 m.
Between these two places, a diverse destination awaits you with classic cycling regions such as the Altmühl, Inns, and Danube.
